Georgia adopts Switzerland’s and Norway’s practices
Georgia's Defence Minister Irakli Alasania said the national authorities have started cooperation with Switzerland and Norway, to build a system of reservists from these countries' experience.
"In the next few years we want to entirely restructure our army along the professional lines. In this regard, the reserve's importance increases ten times," said I.Alasania. According to him, on December 18 of this year he will receive from the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces an army institutional building specific plan. "We need a mobile, efficient reserve," said I.Alasania.
In the Georgian armed forces 37,000 people are serving; this year the mobilization resource can be up to 150 000.
