Iran Refuses to Sign Nuclear Deal Under Sanctions
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Thursday he is to refuse to sign the final agreement on Iranian nuclear program reached by the P5+1 Group if sanctions against Iran are not fully lifted.
"Iran will not sign the nuclear agreement with the largest powers (P5+1) if all sanctions are not lifted," Rouhani said. The deadline for the final comprehensive agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group (United States, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, China and Germany) is set for June 30.
Last week, Tehran agreed to cut back its uranium enrichment program and decrease the number of centrifuges. Under the deal, the US, the EU and the UN Security Council agreed to lift their nuclear-related sanctions following verification by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) of Tehran's implementation of the agreements.
