Japan Passes Law To Help US Fight Abroad

The new legislation, protested by thousands of Japanese citizens, abolishes Article 9 of the the country's constitution renouncing the use of force in settling international disputes.
It allows Japan's so-called Self-Defense Force to be sent overseas for the first time since World War II.
In the US General Staff view Japan should cooperate with the United States, Australia and India to provide security to the entire Asia-Pacific region.
