Russia has completed naval exercises near the Kamchatka Peninsula that included 2,000 servicemen, nuclear submarines, surface vessels and the firing of missiles, the Russian Defense Ministry's Eastern Military District's spokesman said Thursday.

"The combat preparations included more than 40 pieces of military and specialty equipment, over 10 surface vessels, nuclear submarines, and service vessels, as well as 10 airplanes and helicopters and more than 2,000 servicemen," Capt. 1st Rank Roman Martov said.
