Afghan Forces Kill 53 Militants in Eight Joint Operations Across Country
The Afghan security forces have killed at least 53 militants in the past 24 hours, including 20 members of the Daesh terrorist group (outlawed in many countries) in eight joint counterterrorism operations across Afghanistan, local media reported Monday, citing the Interior Ministry.
The militants were killed in operations in the Afghan provinces of Nangarhar, Logar, Paktika, Kandahar and Helmand, the TOLOnews outlet reported.
The Afghan forces injured five militants and detained five others, according to the outlet.
A number of weapons are said to have been seized in the operations.
