Putin: Islamic world can rely on support and assistance of Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a greeting to the participants of events of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia-Islamic World" on the occasion of opening of the regular meeting of group, and also the beginning of the IX International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World". The text of the telegram was published on the Kremlin website.
"Today, many Muslim countries face serious challenges: the escalation of terrorism and militant extremism, the sharp aggravation of ethnoconfessional contradictions, economic and social problems. I would like to emphasize that the Islamic world can fully rely on the support and assistance from Russia", it is said in the telegram.
The President noted that Russia is ready to increase cooperation with regional partners in the fight against terrorism, and also in search for ways to peacefully resolve crises. "I am sure that we are capable to make joint efforts for strengthen international security and stability, to build a just, democratic world order, which is free from any forms of intolerance, discrimination and power dictate," the Head of state concluded.
The third meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia-Islamic World" is being held for the first time in Grozny from May 16 to 17. After the end of the forum, participants will move to Kazan for the IX International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2017", which will be held on May 18-20, 2017.
