Armenia Simplifies Import of Russian Military Equipment
Armenian government supports an initiative to simplify import of military products from Russia. The Cabinet of Ministers sent the relevant bill to the Parliament of Armenia.
The decision was made based on the necessity and importance of importing military products and also the further expansion of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Armenia. "The government's policy in this area is aimed at creating favorable conditions for the import of military products for the Armenian Armed Forces", the government statement reads.
Earlier, Yerevan received an export loan worth $ 200 million to purchase weapons within the framework of the Armenian-Russian agreement. The agreement, signed in 2015, provides for the purchase of Russian-made military products. This agreement entered into force in February 2016.
